Lil Jammers Age 1-3
The Lil’ Jammers group program is designed of children 12 months to 3 years of age and requires parent participation.
The focus of this class is on developing foundational music knowledge and an overall love of music while using music as a tool to nurture the development of the whole child. Toddlers will be guided through expressive music making and movement as they explore some of the following musical concepts: rhythm, pitch and melody, listening activities. Instrument exploration, dance and expressive movement in circle, group and free dances, as well as social and independent music games.
Classes are jam packed with fun, creative and engaging music activities. Together with caregivers toddlers will learn how to keep a steady beat and experience opposites in music, we will enjoy singing songs together that include motions, repeated words and different meters and modes. And of course we begin to develop control over small and large body muscles through finger plays, circle dance, and creative movement.
Rhythm Kids Age 3-6
The Rhythm Kids group program is geared towards children 3-6 years of age and does not require parent participation.
The focus of this class is on developing foundational music knowledge and an overall love of music while using music as a tool to nurture the development of the whole child. Children will be guided through expressive music making and movement as they explore the some of the following musical concepts: rhythm, pitch and melody, listening activities. Instrument exploration, dance and expressive movement in circle, group and free dances, as well as social and independent music games.
In this class kids will learn to play simple patterns as a group helping to build the tools they need to create music in an ensemble. We explore graphic notation symbols in comparison to sounds which is a precursor to reading music. We will play and explore a variety of instruments focusing on a steady beat, repeated rhythms, and patterns. Rhythm Kids will have the opportunity to explore different genres and cultural music through listening activities, instrument play as well as creative movement, and group dances using props.
